Leg 5 of sophomore pacing filly Prospect Series now Sept. 3

August 20, 2020
Leg 5 of sophomore pacing filly Prospect Series now Sept. 3
The three-year-old pacing filly Prospect Series event originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Flamboro Downs has been changed to Thursday, Sept. 3 at Flamboro Downs. The box for the Sept. 3 event, Leg 5, will close Monday, Aug. 31 at 10 am.

The Prospect Series is open to two and three-year-olds sustained to the Ontario Sires Stakes program. Each age-sex-gait division consists of five legs, with each race going for $6,500 plus starting fees, and a $15,000 final to be contested at Grand River Raceway on Friday, Sept. 25. Complete conditions can be found on the Ontario Racing – Prospect Series page.

Owners can choose to race their horses exclusively in the Prospect Series, or move between the Prospect Series and Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots and Gold Series’ throughout the summer. For each numbered leg horses can only be entered at one level (i.e. Prospect Series No. 1, Grassroots Series No. 1, or Gold Series No. 1) and horses can only be declared into one post season finale— either the Prospect Series Final, Grassroots Semi-Final or Gold Series Super Final.

Unlike the Ontario Sires Stakes finals, horses need only have entered one Prospect Series event to qualify for the Sept. 25 Final. Click here to view the current point standings.
