Update on Purse Reallocation Funding Program – July 6 2020
We would like to thank the Horsepersons’ Associations (HBPA, COSA and QROOI) and all members of the Task Force for their tireless efforts in administering and for their unselfish cooperation on this program to the horsepeople of Ontario. Without their support, this program would not have been successful. We also want to thank the horsepeople for their patience as we navigated through this challenging process.
As part of the agreement concerning this program, Ontario Racing has compiled a list of horse owners across all three breeds who received funding under the criteria developed by the Task Force. Horses that were part of a submitted application that did not meet one or more of the criteria at the time the application was submitted were not approved, and payments were not issued for such horses.
This program has now closed and the reconciliation and final reporting process has started. Please note that as per the terms of the application, there is no appeal process and all decisions are final.
The final payments have been issued for eligible horses. Please contact Ontario Racing at
syoung@ontarioracing.com if you have not received payment for approved horses.
