Ontario Racing is responsible for setting an annual program of races, attracting new horse owners, implementing breed improvement programs, growing the fan base, and connecting the industry with the government and general public.
The main QHRIDP components will remain similar to prior years, with the 2018-19 program projected to provide over $3.5 million in total purses and incentives. New to the QHRIDP, a Mare Breeding Incentive will be introduced to encourage breeding of QH mares in Ontario.
The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame has launched a one-of-a-kind collection of live web cameras where people can view real-time streams of several in-foal mares during their pregnancy through the actual foaling.
