Two New Ontario Racing Director Positions Open to Interested Indviduals
The deadline for letters of interest and resumes for the two Ontario Racing Director positions is April 21
st, 2017, leaving time for interested individuals to participate. Inquiries and responses to date, have been impressive but if you have a unique experience, skill or represent a specific interest in the horse racing sector such as equine, welfare, horseplayer or customer we would like to hear from you.

Individuals who are interested in being considered for a Director-at-Large position should forward a cover letter and resume or summary of skills and experience by April 21st, 2017. Please note these are volunteer positions. Ted Smith Appointed as Program Appeal Adjudicator
Ontario Racing is pleased to announce that Ted Smith has accepted a 2-year appointment to the role of Programs Appeal Adjudicator.
Ted has an extensive horse racing background and a wealth of Breeding Program knowledge. In past roles, Ted has served as the President & CEO of Standardbred Canada, and the President of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame for Thoroughbred and Standardbred. Ted has also advised on several committees across all three breeds including the Ontario Racing Commission Rules Committee, the Standardbred Advisory Group, and the Quarter Horse Program Development Committee.
The role of the Program Appeals Adjudicator is directly related to Ontario’s Racing mission of industry self-determination. The Programs Appeal Adjudicator will hear Horse Improvement Program appeals and make final decisions on Program appeals.

There is a vacancy on the TIP Advisory Group for a Member-At-Large. Ontario Racing is requesting that anyone interested in participating in the Advisory Group put forward their name. The TIP Advisory Group will fill the vacancy, subject to the approval of the OR Board of Directors. The Thoroughbred Advisory Group provides advice to Ontario Racing in developing and implementing a plan for the continued success of the Ontario Thoroughbred Improvement Program.
