Best Bet - (1) CHOCOLATE SWIRL - Race 4
Spot Play - (4) SHELDONTHEPSYCHIC - Race 7
20-cent Early Pick 4 – Race 3- 1,2,4/1/3,6/3,4,5,7 - $4.80
20-cent Late Pick 4 – Race 7 - 1,4/1,4/1,2,5/1,4,5,9 - $9.60

Race 1 - (3) SUNNY SICILY comes to Grand River following a pair of wins at Flamboro.  If she keeps to task, she cruises to victory.  (6) SUNSHINE QUEEN draws tough for the first time in a couple weeks, she knows how to leave, and in a race with not a whole lot of speed, look for her to be in the mix early.  (4) SEXY SPORT took some time off after struggling against tougher at Woodbine Mohawk Park.  This is an easier spot for this filly to rebound.

Race 2 - (3) ALWAYS FLASHING A draws into a good spot here coming in from Woodbine Mohawk Park.  He is a consistent gelding, who will be tough to beat here.  (1) OCEANVIEW MAGNUM faces easier as well this week for trainer Richard Moreau.  He also gets a better post draw, which makes him a valuable play from the rail.  (5) PAPARAZZI HANOVER tried to close last week and just didn’t have much in the tank.  Worth a look underneath.

Race 3 - (4) CENTURY GEORGIA faces tougher tonight after a couple nice races at Clinton where she didn’t miss the board.  She has had some success here before; I like her chances to win. (2) DANDY IDEA could drop and pop for trainer Bob McIntosh after a game effort in the Grassroots at Hanover.  She has the ability to leave the gate, expect her to do that here.  (1) CEASELESS doesn’t miss the board when Colin Kelly is aboard, do not leave this filly off your ticket.

Race 4 - (1) CHOCOLATE SWIRL leads a nice field of Preferred pacers into the second leg of the Pick-4 sequence.  He had too much ground to make up last week, if he stays true to form, he should have no issues here.  (3) HES GOT SWAGGER battled HES A SENSATION through the stretch last week and he was all heart.  He comes off of Lasix tonight, facing tougher and could bring some value underneath.  (8) TOOT TOOT N raced better than the line shows last week, he draws tough, but should be able to make the ticket.

Race 5 - (3) TAILS AWAY gets a better post draw tonight and Kelly back in the bike.  He had too much ground to make up last week and didn’t fire down the lane.  Look for him to improve tonight.  (6) LITTLEBITASWAGGER is one of the main speed horses in the field this week for trainer Jack Harris.  He draws tough, but should be able to get into a good spot early.  (1) BANKROLL hasn’t drawn the inside in quite some time, look for him to round out the Tri.

Race 6 - (5) SIR GALAHAD was a game victor at Clinton in an Invitational Pace his last start, and while it looks like he is facing easier, he has done well against tougher before.  He has won four of six and if you get anywhere near 7/2, you should take it.  (4) JAY EYE EM is a deep closer who will be coming late, he has done well against these before, post draw makes him a contender.  (7) CHAMPAGNE PHIL dropped into the Preferred-2 last week and didn’t have much left in the tank to fight with down the stretch. This week he drops into the Preferred-3.  He has been known to show speed before.  (3) AMERICAN WIGGLE was a play of mine last week, he went to the lead and tired through the stretch.  This class looks like the right fit for him.  (2) WHITE HAIR ROCKS had an awful trip last week and could not turn it around.  Look for him to be better tonight.

Race 7 - This is one of the tougher races on the program and looks to be wide-open.  (4) SHELDONTHEPSYCHIC scored his only win of 2020 at Grand River on August 28, he seems like the logical play in here at a price.  Pitch that effort from post seven at Flamboro.  (1) CAVIART SUNDANCE gets some much-needed post improvement and faces slightly easier this week.  His speed figures are right up there with this group.  (3) FOREGO THE CIGAR gets a key driver change to Cullen for the first time this week, may help some.

Race 8 - (1) KING FOR LIFE dropped to this class last week and improved nicely for trainer/driver Bruce Richardson.  He should get a much easier trip from the inside.  (4) WINGS OF BALLYKEEL is the main danger to my top pick having won two-straight.  She is a speedy mare who can race from anywhere.  (5) OH MISS SOPHIE is a nice mare with a good amount of speed.  She is a strong contender underneath.

Race 9 - (5) BRODYS SCRAPPER won easily at Flamboro coming from off the pace.  Having to race from the outside again this week should be no issue for this gelding.  (2) G A SPEED SAMMY steps up in class following a nice win against Preferred 3 company last out.  He has some speed and the ability to follow speed.  (1) YS LOTUS looked game in defeat last time out for trainer Richard Moreau, he has been forced to come from off the pace in a majority of his races.  He finally draws well and should improve.

Race 10 - (5) GIDDY UP MAX was a strong closer from post seven last week and just couldn’t get the job done.  He draws well this week and could score.  (9) AETHON won three straight but seems to have tapered off a little bit for Moreau.  He draws decently tonight, but tends to do his best work when on or near the lead.  Worth a look underneath.   (4) SPECTRUM SEELSTER has some of the best speed ratings in the field.  Expect him to be forwardly placed and fighting late.  (1) BLAKES CHIP should not be counted out from the rail, he gets over the Grand River surface well.  (2) GODY DORLEANS comes back to Grand River where he has been hit or miss, look for him on the bottom part of the ticket.
