Free Flamboro Downs Analysis April 24, 2022
Free expert race picks for harness racing at Flamboro Downs on Sunday, April 24, from Garnet Barnsdale

Best Bet – (4) SAULSBROOK OLYMPIA – Race 6
Spot Play – (2) LUCKS ALL CREDIT – Race 10
20-Cent Early Pick 5 – Race 1: 1,3,7/2/5,6/4,5,7/3,5,6 = $10.80
20-Cent Late Pick 5 – Race 7: 3,4/4,6,7/2,3/2,3,7/1,3 = $14.40
20-Cent Early Pick 4 - Race 3: 5,6/4,5,7/3,5,6/4 = $3.60
20-Cent Late Pick 4 – Race 8: 4,6,7/2,3/2,3,7/1,3 = $7.20

Race 1 – This is a great betting race to kick off the guaranteed $10,000 Pick 5 with plenty of live contenders, I’ll side with (1) THOMAS P TWO who again will likely use rail control to play catch me if you can. (3) HERBS JOURNEY is back where he fits best, and he should contend here, likely at a good price; using. (7) I GOT THE LOOKS had the impossible mission of racing uncovered on the rim trying to chase down a class-dropping Mohawk shipper. He is another that could pop here at a price.

Race 2 – (2) RUN LIKE HILL made two moves and won impressively over similar here last week. He should be the one to beat again. (1) DREAMEX was a winner last time she raced for a tag, but she got the benefit of cutting a 1:02 1/5 opening 1/2 that night. She will need to be faster here to beat the choice. (6) IVE GOT THE WILL should be looking for a clean line tonight after breaking stride last week. I see her closing late for a share.

Race 3 – (6) WISK KEY K raced huge when claimed in Ottawa and a repeat of that effort would make him very tough to beat here. (5) BAD EYE BILL is the one to fear dropping back into a claimer. He should be rolling late. (1) GEORGES CREDIT should get a good trip and land a share starting from the inside.

Race 4 – (5) CREED HANOVER looks like a better horse this year, and he meets a field that he should beat; top call. (7) SELF IMPORTANT got a needed clean line last week. She can get more aggressive now, and she can be a threat here; using. (4) RUBY TWO SHOES improved racing against similar to these in London, and she is another in with a chance here.

Race 5 – (6) RENEGADE GYPSY’s comeback race was good, and he has a good chance to wire this field; top call. (5) TAKEAPEEK AT ME’s form has improved recently, and Kelly takes the return drive tonight. I’ll use him on multi-race tickets. (3) DIRT gets needed post relief tonight, and he figures to work his way into the Tri. (1) OFF ROAD HANOVER should take a slice starting from the inside tonight. (7) HEADLINE MAKER finished 2 1/2 lengths behind the choice last week, and he draws worse so I’m not sure what makes him the morning line favorite. I’ll use him in the bottom rungs of the High-5.

Race 6 – (4) SAULSBROOK OLYMPIA faces much easier tonight. This is a field that she is supposed to beat; top call. (1) SPORTS DUCHESS recent form isn’t great, but she is worth a look for the Exacta getting Sorrie and drawing best here. (3) BIG DIAMOND had a tough trip last week and only tired late. She should be in the exotics mix tonight.

Race 7 – This dash will likely come down to (4) DABUNKA and (3) DINNER AT THE MET. I’ll side with the former who produced a big effort when Sorrie took over the lines last week, and I’ll use both on multi-race tickets. (1) MIRAMICHI DAVID likely rounds out the Tri again tonight.

Race 8 – (6) THUNDER ROMPS got a needed clean line last week and he draws inside his main rival now. With Young sticking with him, I’ll give him a slight nod over (7) MR ZUANETTI who should be the one to catch again this week. (4) JUST AN OPTION moves inside, and I could see him leaving this time looking for the pocket. He has upset potential.

Race 9 – (3) JOHNNY BUCKSHOT trotted a sub-59 second back 1/2 in his qualifier on 4/16 and this isn’t the toughest spot for a debutant; price play. (2) LIVINGONTHERAIL led all the way and hung on to dead heat for the win vs. similar. He should be the one to catch here. (5) STONEBRIDGE HECATE will likely show speed and stick around for another share.

Race 10 – (2) LUCKS ALL CREDIT paced a huge mile in defeat here on 4/10. He should offer a good price stepping up in class, and I’ll take a stab with him. (7) FREDS NIGHT comes off a sharp win, and he is likely the one to beat despite drawing widest. (3) SAUBLE PLAY should improve here getting post relief and dropping into a claimer; price look.

Race 11 – (3) MISTER J R was a dominant winner at this level here Thursday, and he gets the call to repeat off that sharp effort. (1) CAL HANOVER followed the choice home but he couldn’t gain. He probably completes the Exacta again tonight. (7) JOE ROCKHEAD likely blasts for position again and sticks around for a slice this time. (8) BOOTS N BRIAN has his work cut out from post 8. I see him rallying late for a small share. (5) ROUGH TRADE rarely misses a cheque. Consider for the bottom of the High-5.
