Big card for Ajax Downs' final day of 50th Anniversary Season
The 50th anniversary season of Ajax Downs Quarter Horse racing comes to a close Oct. 21 with its biggest card of the season.

Ten races with 74 entrants will offer plenty of excitement and wagering propositions for the afternoon, which gets underway at 12:55 p.m.

SHAKE IT TWICE, one of the year's top 3-year-old fillies, heads the day's featured eighth race, an open allowance for 3-year-olds at 400 yards worth $23,000.

Owned and trained by Chantelle Bourgeois of Enniskillen, ON, Shake It Twice won the Ontario-Sires Stakes Derby on Aug. 11 in her last start, her third straight victory and fourth win of the year.

Bourgeois, who sent out her 100th career winner as a trainer last week, bred Shake It Twice from her own stallion, Look at Magics Form and mare, Shake Pretty Baby.

Marie Broadstock and Picov Cattle Co.'s JESS A DEAL, also a filly, is another contender having finished fourth in the Picov Derby on Sept. 23.

The early forecast for Ajax Downs' final racing day is for partly sunny skies and a high of 16 degrees Celcius.
