He has been around horse racing most of his young life and 20-year-old Doug McPherson can be spotted at Ajax Downs on some racedays, handicapping each race with Daryl Wells Jr. and writing his analayis in the daily program. He's also working for Equibase at Woodbine where he adds his comments to results charts for every race run at that track.
I caught up with Doug to find out a few more fun things about him:
1 - Outside of the racetrack, what do you like to do in your spare time?
- I've taken up bowling recently. I'm competitive but not really athletic so (10-pin) bowling is a perfect sport for me.

2 - Followers of you on Twitter (@LDMcPherson) will notice you like to jump in the car and drive?
- I love road trips. My most recent one was in March, I went to a match racing track in North Carolina called Eagle Rock Downs. It was Quarter Horses, the track was about 350 yards and pulled up into an open field. Pretty wild place.
3 - What is playing on your car stereo right now?
- Mostly Carly Rae Jepsen, Drake and Bob Dylan lately. And a lot of pop radio.
4 - What is your biggest pet peeve?
- I hate being interrupted. I try not to talk over people so being cut off mid-sentence drives me crazy
5 - Who would play you in a movie?
- Michael Cera. He's pretty awkward, it's cool.
