May 18, 2021 – Ontario Racing would like to inform horsepeople of the latest updates related to the Thoroughbred Equine Benefit payments announced on April 23, 2021.
April relief payments for horses that met the stabled, on-the-grounds
criteria, have been deposited into horsepeople’s accounts that are on file with the Woodbine Thoroughbred Bookkeeper’s office. Cheques can now be requested for horses that meet the aforementioned criteria.
Applications received for horses stabled off the track are currently being processed for April payments. Information regarding May payments and eligibility criteria will be announced shortly.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario Racing created a task force, as it did during the spring lockdown in 2020, to address the financial impacts to horse racing in Ontario.
