Race 1 - (1) YOUCOULDBETHATGIRL gets some much-needed post relief tonight for trainer Dolores Basilone. She has gate speed and should race well from the rail. (5) TWIN B HUGS has hit the ticket from just about every post of late. She figures to be tough against this group. (8) VICTORIAHASASECRET draws tough this week; she can show speed from out here. Look for her to bring value underneath.
Race 2 - (2) MADAME SHERRY gets some much-needed class relief coming in from Mohawk Park, where she was facing tougher. I look for her to cut the mile from here. (1) HEINEKEN SEELSTER raced from a mid-pack draw last week coming off the pace to finish a solid fourth. Rail post makes him dangerous. (4) HERBS JOURNEY dropped to this class last week and had some success; he could hit the ticket again.
Race 3 - (2) HOWMACFIESTY put up a significant TrackMaster speed figure in her last start. She is a versatile mare with a lot of grit; she will be battling down the lane. Something went amiss with (1) IN THE NEWS in her last start. She has the speed to utilize from the rail, which, combined with a positive driver change, could improve. (4) DANDY IDEA raced well from post seven in her last start, where she closed from off the pace. Look for her to be moving late.
Race 4 - (2) WILLYORWONTHE won against this group three starts back from post seven. While he has struggled as of late, he draws the inside and should bounce back. (6) TYMAL HOUDINI is a horse that frequently hits the board, having done so in 10 of 13 starts this year, all while facing upper-level conditioned ranks. (8) SICARIO gets assigned the outside this week following a considerable effort from post seven last out. The Moreau trainee will have a lot of work to do from out here.
Race 5 - (3) SENIOR K has been doing good things racing at Rideau in the $8,000 claiming ranks. If his form transfers to the half, he will be tough to beat from an inside post. (1) MONTY MONO has won two straight at Clinton and will try his luck here tonight. He has speed and could repeat with Steward in the bike. (4) HERCULE J M raced well in his last effort but was overmatched by the eventual winner. He draws well again and figures to be on the ticket.
Race 6 - (9) JMR MACH MEL gets significant class relief tonight and leaves from the second tier. Kelly has had success with this mare before. (5) BORN A DRAGON has done well facing tougher at Mohawk Park, including that effort last out against Sporty Tori. Shippers do well, and she should be no different. (4) KIT was stung to the first quarter last week and still managed to fight on for minor spoils. There isn't much speed to her inside; she could be the pace-setter early. (7) STREAKAZANA will get Lasix back tonight after a poor effort at Clinton in her last start. (6) CASINO CLASSIC figures to make the Super Hi-5 with Sorrie back in the bike.
Race 7 - (3) ERIKAS SHADOW drops back to the class where she scored her most recent victory. She has speed, and she figures to be the one cutting the mile. (2) COLD CREEK LACEY gets post relief tonight after making up ground in her last start. An inside draw should allow her to get into a good position to close late. (6) IF YOU KNEW SUSIE gets Kelly back in the bike and will face easier after a difficult effort last out.
Race 8 - (3) LADY TITAN has been on a tear as of late; four-peat looms. (1) MIKE THE KNIGHT has won two of his last three starts at Georgian Downs. The connections elect to add hopples back tonight. (9) SHAMMIE HALL draws the second tier tonight while facing the tougher company. She has speed but has been known to come from off the pace before.
Race 9 - (3) I WISH YOU WELL looks to drop and pop tonight for trainer Anita Ouellette. Anything close to her most recent effort should be enough to defeat this group. (8) REYS N A ROCKET has won three of her last five starts and has only been worse than second once this year. The biggest thing going against her is the post draw. (2) TEATIMPREACHER GB could be a factor at decent odds; don't leave her out of the exotics.
Race 10 - (1) P L OSCAR should use post relief to his advantage to take down this group tonight. He is in much better form than he was last season. (3) STOKED BLUE CHIP had too much ground to make up last week from post eight; he seeks a better effort tonight with a more favorable draw. (9) ALL THE TRIMMINS had too far to come in his most recent effort from the outside. Thinking the second-tier will be easier for him. (6) WARRAWEE WIZ has a lot of speed, and he has done good things with Coulter in the bike before. He could be sneaky in this spot. (2) ARCH WE LUCKY could make the bottom of the ticket at big odds.
