Race 1 – (5) DAD'S MISSY flopped as favourite in her latest after getting caught up in a pace duel and that style has not worked for her in the past. She drops to the lowest claiming level for a barn that took its first win of the season last week. (2) J M R BOLD VISION has yet to win at six furlongs after 10 tries but she drops to the lowest claiming level for the first time and might be able to challenge for the win. (4) ONEZY'S DREAM is another gal dropping in class and she can wake up in this small field. (6) WARNING BELLE may be the dominant pace runner and that gives her a chance to stick around.
Race 2 – (5) LAST SENSATION is a wild card as he has been away for more than a year and drops sharply in class. He showed ability in his debut on grass last June and he comes from a barn that has been on a good roll. (4) ANOTHER BREEZE gave away a clear lead in the stretch run last time and landed third. He has a habit of losing ground in the late stages of his races but the five furlong distance should work well for him. (3) PREACHLITTLEGOSEPL carried his speed better in his second career start when he dropped to this class level. (2) MR WILL was off Lasix for the first time in his latest but he could not grab the early lead. He might be able to get to the front early against this field.
Race 3- (5) COLTONS DREAM may be able to chase the speed types to his inside and pounce for his maiden win as he shortens to five furlongs. (1) IMPRESSIVE SPEED was favoured off the long layoff and landed on the edges in a quickly run event. The top pick was second in the race. (2) OCELOT gets a big class drop from maiden allowance to maiden claiming and he is one of several quick ones. (3 ) CANOLA WORLD wore blinkers second time out this season and led for a long time and now he shortens up half a furlong.
Race 4- (4) TOMCAT BLACK takes a sharp drop in class for Sam-Son Farms and he comes out of a quick race and was in the battle for the lead in the stretch run. He should be strong in the late stages at the shorter distance. (5) SPEEDY MOONLITE is quick early and he drops in class after a two month break. (6) JOJOMAR is logical in what could be a peak effort in his third start off the layoff. (2) CHASING VINNY has run his two best races at the 5 1/2 furlong distance.
Race 5 –Gary Barber's (6) VEGAS KITTEN won a race on the inner turf course in his short time at Woodbine last fall. He has been in California this year (January) where he was a winner and returns to Ontario following a modest outing at Belmont. A former Mark Casse trainee (4) PROLIFERATE was a big winner July 22 in his Woodbine debut on this course and he posted a career best 87 Beyer Figure. (1) MALIBU UPROAR runs well fresh as he won his 2020 opener on the Taylor turf course. (7) THRESHOLD did okay at this level last time behind a streaking runner who has come back to win again.
Race 6 – (6) BALLYMORE STAR was a runaway winner in his first outing on the Tapeta July 3, taking her maiden by six lengths. She has come back with some good workout times. (7) SARATOGA VISION gets some class relief after trying a tough Grade 2 stakes race n turf and she handles the main track. (4) BARKIN had a nice first season of racing in 2020 and can rally for a top three placing in his return. (5) DICTATE will not the lead to herself in this race but perhaps can track the other speed and get into the mix.
Race 7 – (2) COURT BATTLE gets a slight nod in this turf race only because he should be the lone speed and if he slows things down enough he may be able to go all the way. If you don't think the top pick will be able to hang on, then accomplished turfer (1) SOLAR is most likely to get the win after a super return outing on the Tapeta.(6) FULL EXTREME gets a big class drop and exits a fast race. He seeks his first grass win. (7) GUITAR GEORGE is making his first start as a nine-year-old and he often runs well when fresh and handles turf, prefers the main track.
Race 8 – (4) SOUPER BEST BET is tough to go past as he drops to the lowest maiden level for the Mark Casse stable. His ability to win at 1 1/16 miles is not a certainty but the competition is not tough. (1) LETTING LOOSE also gets a class drop after a modest debut outing when he took a bit of betting support. (1) GRAND GIZMO made an early move to the lead in his third race off the layoff at this distance and that was an improved effort. (9) PARTY OF NO was second in a race like this last time, his 15
th attempt at this maiden win. (8) HIGHLAND JAX stretches out out to a route distance after showing a bit of closing power in his latest.
