Best Bet –  (2) CAMP CREEK – Race 8

Pick 4  (.20 cents, Races 4-7)  - 1,2, 5, 7/ 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 / 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 / 6 = $20.00

*Races scheduled for grass are handicapped for turf

Race 1 – (2) MARIPOSA BELLE ran a winning race first time out Sept 21 on the inner turf for Roger Attfield but was nabbed right on the wire by a well regarded one from Sam-Son farms. She moves to the main turf and has had a pair of good workout times. (3) TIZ AFFAIR is a first-time starter by 2-time Breeders' Cup Classic winner Tiznow and a half sister to graded stakes winning sprinter Yorkton who loves turf. She has had a litany of fast workout times. (1)JOYFUL CAT has picked up a purse share in all four races and it appears as if cutting back to seven furlongs on turf is going to be ideal.

RACE 2 – It could be the day for (5) OUR UNCLE DREW to win his maiden in this, his 13th career start. He has been in the top four in all seven starts this season on turf and Tapeta and at various distances and this is his first try at six furlongs on the main track. (7) TALL WATER looks like the quickest early in the field. He had a botched beginning to his latest but posted a 56 Beyer Figure after battling on the pace on Tapeta in early Sept. (3) SURE WOULD FOREST has been picking up shares and note that his most recent pair of workout times were sizzling.

RACE 3-  The Grade 3 Ontario Fashion Stakes at six furlongs marks the return of (3) SUMMER SUNDAY who was so dominant in the spring and summer. She was upset by (4) ALNILAH in the longer Seaway Stakes and must avoid a pace battle early with (6) JEAN ELIZABETH.

Race 4 -  The Pick 4 begins here and there are a few possibilities in this allowance race on the main turf. (1) MARCH OF DREAMS could post a mild upset with a clean trip. The barn just won its first race of the season and may get on a roll. (5) RIDEFORTHECAUSE is well regarded and she was impressive in her return to racing Sept. 21 after a long layoff. (7)BELLE DANSEUSE seems to prefer this main turf course with the one, sweeping turn and that works for her speed style.

Race 5 – This is an inner turf race for maiden fillies and the favourites will be tough but how about a longshot to consider. (7) BOSSALINA has a super grass pedigree as she is by a top turf sire and her dam has an all European pedigree. (4) MAGNANIMOUS was favoured for her debut in July and was a good second in a turf sprint. This impeccably bred gal is a half sister to Grade1 winner Jaywalk. (3) GUN SOCIETY has been getting closer with each outing and she handles the inner turf.

Race 6 – This is a large field of maiden 2-year-olds on the grass and none in the body of the field have tried turf. I don't like taking a favourite in this situation by (2) ANITA GRIGIO is by a good grass sire in Old Forester and her champion dam did register a win on turf. Anita has run well in all three of her career races on the main track. (5) LET'S HAVE FUN was given the call as a longshot first time out but she was quite wide and looked like she wanted a bit more distance/ Her dam liked the grass. (7) BLUSHING BREW has average turf breeding but so many nice workout times and her trainer is nearly 40% winning with beginners.

Race 7 –More 2-year-old maidens on the grass and (6) BAYOU BELLE has a strong turf pedigree and a third-place finish behind subsequent stakes winner Curlin's Voyage second time out. (2) HASN'T HIT ME YET had a bit of a messy outing when she tried a grass sprint for her second career race. She broke slowly, rushed up and still stayed on for third. (8) L'AMOUR TOUJOURS will appreciate the longer distance after a one-paced debut in a turf sprint.

Race 8 – This is the 1 3/4 mile final leg of the Turf Endurance Series the point leaders are going to be extra tough as they have proven to be the best stayers. (2) CAMP CREEK might have made his bid to the lead too soon in the third leg of the series as he stalled and landed fourth. Will give him another chance. (4) PRIDEOFDISTINCTION had improving form heading into the third leg of the series and he won impressively. (1) SINE METU has been second in all these legs and is the points leader.

Race 9 – There appears to be a lot of early speed in this $75,00 claiming race for non-winners of 2 although the distance is only five furlongs. (5) MCCULLEY is overdue to win as he has four runner-up placings in five starts this year. (7) ROYAL FUERST had a startling reversal of form in his return from a two month layoff for new trainer Norm McKnight. He has worked quickly again since that win. (40 HEDEMAN  appears to be cycling back up to top form and he can pick up some pieces.

Race 10 – These are maiden fillies for $15,00 claiming and John Brown's (5) TRIAGE has had several workouts since her good debut outing when third. Trainer Rocky Griffith has a high rate of winners making their second career start. (3) SMARTY ARTIE is by former Ontario sire We Miss Artie and he has a nice 2-year-old filly from this first crop. This gal is also trained by Wesley Ward and rates a look. (8) INVODKAWETRUST  continues to pick up shares and she goes a bit shorter in distance.
