The American Quarter Horse Association has confirmed that Milena Kwiecien’s Carneros, a 2015 brown gelding, has set a new 110-yard world record of :6.770.

Carneros set the record on June 16, 2019, while racing at Ajax Downs in an allowance race.

The horse was bred by Stone Chase Stables LLC and is by champion Prospect To The Top. He is the first foal out of the stakes-placed Valiant Hero mare Cakebread And Thou.

He was trained in this start by Jason Pascoe and ridden by Ed Walton.

Carneros has won 10 of his 31 career starts, with nine additional placings. He has earned $86,326. The short-distance specialist earlier this year won the 110-yard OROOI Sprint Series #1 Stakes.

The previous 110-yard record holder was Jakes Charming Jody, who in 2012 ran the distance at Remington Park in :6.784.
