There is no stakes racing at Woodbine this weekend, so we’re bringing you some Ontario content from south of the border, with another edition of Ontario breds abroad.

The one-eyed gelding was named Canadian Horse of the Year for a second consecutive year, on April 14 at the Sovereign Awards. A homebred for Lawrence Cordes, he is making his five-year-old campaign debut. He last ran in the Gr. 3 Holiday Stakes at Gulfstream in December, finishing third and earning an Equibase Speed figure of 103. He breezed five furlongs at Keeneland on April 17 in 1:02.40.

An earner of over $3 million in his career, the gelding is making the first start of his eight-year-old campaign. He is a four-time participant in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf, including his last start to end his 2021 season. The 2020 Eclipse Award winner for Champion Male Turf Horse, breezed three furlongs on dirt at Churchill Downs on April 20, in 37.20
