TORONTO, JULY 6, 2023 – In advance of the two-year-old events which begin on July 15, Ontario Racing would like to remind horsepeople that in 2023 the Prospect Series will use the overnight qualifying standard and not the added money standard.
For the 2023 season Prospect Series horses will be considered qualified if they meet the qualifying times listed under rules 12.02.01 and 12.02.02 in the Rules of Standardbred Racing.
At the conclusion of the racing season the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) will consider a permanent revision to the Rules of Standardbred Racing with the benefit of feedback from the 2023 season.
NOTE: This change means the qualifying times in the Racing Guide will not apply to Prospect Series events.
