The weekend’s stakes action at Woodbine Racetrack will begin Saturday afternoon with the $125,000 five and a half furlong Victoria Stakes for two-year-old fillies, and Ontario Bred Dancing Ducchess is 5-2 on the morning line.
Dancing Duchess, bred by Mitchell Kursner, bounced back from a seventh in her career debut on May 20 with an impressive victory on June 17. Sahin Civaci retains the mount after riding Dancing Duchess to victory for owner Tracy Farmer.
Bolt Enoree, another Ontario Bred contender comes from the barn of trainer Kevin Attard.
The Bolt d’Oro filly was a winner at first asking on May 21, posting a victory of nearly two-lengths in a four and half furlong event. Emma-Jayne Wilson will ride for Attard and owners Al and Bill Ulwelling.
She faced the boys in that outing, and has steady works at four and five furlongs to prep for her stakes debut.
The final Ontario Bred in the field is Stormcast. Declan Caroll is aboard the Mark Casse trained filly for owners K E M Racing Stable.
The My Dear Stakes will go as Race 7 on Saturday’s 10-race card.
