Country Boy 123 goes for 5th straight in Monday's Feature
Quarter Horse racing continues Monday September 21 at Ajax Downs with a nine-race card including a $13,000 allowance that has lured Canada's all-time leading earner, Country Boy 123.

The popular 7-year-old, currently on a four-race winning streak, recently went over the $500,000 (Can) mark in career earnings to make him the richest Canadian-based Quarter Horse in history.

Owned and trained by Ruth Barbour of Hillsburgh, ON, Country Boy 123 goes for his 27th career win in Monday's 7th race at 300-yards, his final start before next month's Alex Picov Memorial Championship which he has won the last three consecutive years. Ajax Downs' leading rider Ed Walton partners Country Boy 123 from post four.

Among those facing the three-time Horse of the Year is short-distance specialist Carneros, a close second to Country Boy on Aug. 19 and Barbour's Chicksdigmymoneybags, who finished third to his stablemate in the Distance series Leg 2 on Sept. 2.

The featured race is part of an intriguing Pick 4 wager combining races 6 through 9. Race 9 is a super 10-horse field of maiden 2-year-olds racing 300-yards for a purse of $10,000. The Pick 4 wager is a 20-cent base wager requiring fans to pick the winners of the four races, often yielding a handsome payoff.
