Driver Tyler Moore closed out the month of June at Clinton Raceway winning half of the days race card. His first win came in the first race with Kinmundys Stryker in 1:58. He continued hot on the day with Acefortyfourmurray in the third and Itsmachademic in race seven. Closing out the day with wins in both race nine and ten with Grits N Gravy and Jackstan, respectively.
Raising just over $1000 the Mitchell Optimist Club was the final trackside fundraiser for the month of June, leading into what's going to be a very exciting July at Clinton Raceway.
Sunday July 2, Clinton Raceway will be celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Horse Racing along with the Kin Pace Eliminations on track and Crime Stoppers hosting Sunday's trackside fundraiser.
Jesse Barfield, retired MLB all star, makes his second appearance at Clinton Raceway. A welcome addition to an already exceptional day, Barfield will be under the grandstand on Sunday, July 9 for photos and autographs from 2-4pm. In town for the Clinton Minor Baseball Camp, Barfield will also present the trophy to the winner of the $60,000 Kin Pace, Clinton Raceways signature race.
Held in conjunction with PluckinFest, the Clinton Kinsmen and Kinette’s annual festival, Clinton Raceway will also be Celebrating Canada’s 150
th with the Municipality of Central Huron. The first 150 people to the customer service desk following race #1 will receive a commemorative photo magnet.
There will be plenty of activities for the children as well, bouncers, obstacles, slides, face painting and more will in the park from 1-4pm. Fans will have the chance to win a Backyard BBQ Bash for them and 19 people from Pineridge BBQ, just in time for summer!
Ontario Sires Stakes will make their first appearance at the Huron County Oval with three-year-old colt trotters heating things up on track and trackside the Huron Heat Female Hockey Association will be hosting their Day at the Races fundraiser with a charity BBQ, 50/50 and bake sale, to entice the customers.
Following the races, stay for a delicious Chicken BBQ by Pineridge, to end the weekend long festivities in Clinton.
The live racing excitement continues on Sunday July 16 with Standardbred Canada's Bring a Friend event and Goderich District Collegiate Institute trackside.
Sunday July 23 the track will feature the second annual Vic Hayter Memorial Trot a fundraiser for both the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society and the Stratford Perth Humane Society.
The final Sunday of July will play host to the biennial Legends Day event, featuring the final drive of harness racing great, John Campbell. The Clinton Public Hospital Foundation fundraiser will feature an autograph session with Legendary Hall of Fame Drivers, A free commemorative magazine on the career of John Campbell with the purchase of a program, kids activities, an on line charity auction, chicken BBQ and more.
