Down The Stretch Podcast

After 12 years of being Canada’s most informative and entertaining horse racing publication, Down The Stretch is now a podcast. It will be hosted by long-time racing enthusiast Peter Gross and produced by Mike Boon who is also known as Toronto Mike’d, responsible for 600 podcasts involving Toronto celebrities, musicians and broadcasters.
The principle sponsor of the Down The Stretch Podcast is Ontario Racing, which oversees three types of horse racing in Ontario, so the Down The Stretch podcast will also reflect those three genres. We also receive funding from Ajax Downs, The Horsemens Benevolent Protective Association, Woodbine Entertainment Group and the Central Ontario Standardbred Association.
The Thoroughbred racing at Woodbine attracts the best horses in the world and the purses are as high, if not higher, than at any other track. The greatest grass horses on the planet come to Woodbine to run on the internationally famous E.P. Taylor Course.
Harness racing is now fulltime at Woodbine at Mohawk Park. The unique 7/8ths of a mile layout means the horses fly by practically under your nose.
And at Ajax Downs, sensational Quarter Horse racing at a wonderfully designed building that also offers off track betting from around the world and a bright exciting casino.
Down The Stretch will be the first podcast to deal completely with the racing scene in Ontario. We know the players – the jockeys, the drivers, the trainers and owners - and we will have them talk to you. We’ll tell you why a bet on the horses gives you more bang for your buck than anything you can find but in a corner variety store.
The Down The Stretch podcast, starting January 20, will be available on Spotify, Apple, Google, I Heart Radio and wherever you get your favourite podcasts.
