Best Bet –  (1) CRUMLIN QUEEN – Race 3
Spot Play  - (12) BELLA NINA – Race 5
Pick 4 Play  (.20 cents, Races 4-7) : 5, 7, 8 /6, 8, 9 12 / 7, 8 / 1, 5, 7, 9 = $19.20
Late Pick 4 Play (.20 cents, Races 6-9): 7, 8 / 1, 5, 7, 9 / 1, 3, 4 8 / 1, 2, 10, 13 = $25.60

Race 1 – (6) SUBZERO PLUS could get back on track with the class drop and return to the Tapeta surface. She is 0 for 14 on the grass, 5 for 22 on the main track and she led for a long time in her last Tapeta outing. Her speed gives her a boost in this field also. (5) VEIL was claimed for this $20,000 price Sept. 6 and has awaited the 30 day 'jail' time to come back for the same price off the Norm McKnight claim. She gets back to the main track,  her preferred surface. (1) PRINCESS FABIANA drops back to claiming after a few tries against tougher. (3) HASSAH has won two straight and is zooming up in class but she is fresh (just 4 races this year) coming off a 7 week break with a quick recent workout.

Race 2 – (7) CALLING BEAR worked hard in a pace battle in his 3rd career race Oct. 2 and stayed on for 2nd. The 3rd place finisher came back to win his maiden with a 50 Beyer Figure. Shortening up to 5 furlongs should be ideal. (1) TALL WATER has that 62 Beyer Figure from a maiden race in August and anything close to that would win this race. He has been on the edges in his last pair of starts for twice this claiming price.  (5) UNDER CITY LIGHTS had a big lead in the stretch run of his latest but got tired. He should be better at 5 furlongs. (4) BULLET SPEED is quick and has done well when he races at 5 furlongs.

Race 3- (1) CRUMLIN QUEEN gets down to a good level to win her first race since 2018. She has done some good earning and was stakes placed last year and she deserves a victory. (7) BIONDETTI'S CHOICE is a big mare who is fresh as she has raced just twice this year and only once since February. She loves the Tapeta and is a strong contender. (6) TIZ MY RIGHT was strong on the pace when she won her latest on the class drop. (3) AMI'S LINK won two in a row on Tapeta late last year but she has been racing on grass in all of her 2020 starts. She could wake up.

Race 4 –The Pick 4 begins here and (8)  BEAR KITTY gets the nod in a big field of $5,000 claiming gals. She may be compromised by the distance (6 1/2 furlongs)  so she has to time her move just right. (5) ROSE RING ended a long winless streak last time against non-winners of 3 and is in the zone. (7) DAD'S MISSY drops down to a new low level fr her off another fast workout time. She is a strong factor. (12) SADIE IRENE has been 2nd or 3rd in four of her five races this year and is reliable for exotic bets.

Race 5 – This race is scheduled for 7 furlongs on the E P Taylor turf bit there is rain in the forecast so I will try to handicap for both surfaces. (12) BELLA NINA has won twice on both surfaces and makes her 3rd start of 2020 and a peak effort is likely on the way. (9) PIQUET won on this course at this 7 furlong distance recently and did well in a longer race last time. She has won on the Tapeta also. (6) NOT ORBINARY has had a good season racing on the inner turf (all 3 grass wins came on inner course). She drops in claiming price and has won on both surfaces also. (8) POWER HOUSE won for $23,500 claiming recently and drops to just $10,000. She wants turf.

Race 6 – (8) STEPITUPSTEPHANIE led late in her career debut before  getting caught. She was involved in a pace battle in a short turf dash last time when claimed by the Norm McKnight barn.  (7) MEET THE SOPRANO ran a huge race first time out when chasing a hot pace, grabbing the lead and then just missing. She must avoid regressing off that big effort. (1) HOLY LIGHTING returns to the main track and she has had a couple of good prep times on Tapeta recently. (6) SKY OF DREAMS is by promising young sire Dynamic Sky and she shows decent workout times.

Race 7 – If this race stays on the grass (1) MISS BOBBIT is my selection as she will appreciate shortening up to 6 furlongs. (7) ARAMON was ridden to victory by Emma-Jayne Wilson recently and she takes the top pick but this gal moves up on the Tapeta. (9) TARA DAWN will race if the event comes off turf and moved to the main track and she would rate a long look. (5) LET'S HAVE FUN is hinting at a peak effort and her barn has had a super season.

Race 8 – (8) VICTOR'S WAY went too fast on the pace last time and he lands at the bottom claiming level. (1) WHISKY VICTOR offers a guessing game. He has never raced on the Tapeta but this $500,000 yearling purchase competes for just $5,000 claiming. (4) LEGAL GUMP tumbles in class and switches back to the Tapeta as he seeks a peak run. (3) HARDY CANDY looks better if you put a line through his dirt and grass starts. He is a longshot play. (2) GIANT ATTRACTION is doing well for his current interests although he is eligible for a non winners of 2.

Race 9 – (13) LADY SUNSHINE is a tough call off the layoff and with the class drop. She just about won her maiden against better when claimed in July but following a very fast workout time, was sidelines. She drops to below the claimed price. (1) VENUS VERITY has run hard in two near misses off the long layoff and is not worth a short price. (2) POCKET had a faulty start first time out so give her another chance to get into exotics. (10) ENGLISH BISCUIT can go forward from her debut with a bit more distance.
