Race 1 – (8) ROCK AND TWIST drops to a likely spot and he picks up Cullen who has been running hot and is sure to send him hard from the widest post; top call. (1) FRIENDZONE raced super last week to win from post 9 and he should be the main threat starting from the rail. (3) MAGNIFY BLISS should work out another good trip and take a slice.
Race 2 – (7) BIDFORA HUG is an infrequent winner but she gets a good chance here shipping in from Mohawk Park where she was in much tougher races. She gets the nod. (3) TILIKUM also takes a drop and she should get a more aggressive steer this week; Exacta factor. (1) WILDCAT MAGIC hasn’t won yet this year but her last effort from post 9 was solid and she isn’t out of the question in this spot.
Race 3 – (2) PAISA HANOVER’s current form is likely better than it looks considering the bad posts she has been drawing and she gets the call to upset here. (8) DIAMONDS OR TWINE faces elders here and draws worst but she looks fast enough to contend anyway; using. (9) CATCHAFEWRAYS has taken seven slices in 13 races and she is likely to finish on the bottom of the Tri again here.
Race 4 – There was a time when (1) KOULTONS ROCKET would smoke this field and while he obviously isn’t the same horse, he qualified fast enough to contend and from the rail Whelan might send him right down the road. (4) DURHAM TOWN didn’t get the best trip last week now Steward takes over which could mean aggression is coming. He’s on my Pick 4 ticket. (3) EAS IDEAL is capable of better and perhaps a move inside a couple of post positions will help; consider for the bottom of the Tri and Super.
Race 5 – Tough race with several possibilities. I’ll side with (2) SAVEMEDASPORTSPAGE who raced okay from the 7-hole last time now gets post relief. (6) STYLE SNAPSHOT was claimed by a high percentage barn and she gets hot driver Cullen. She’s a Pick 4 must-use for me. (9) HER OWN LAND has a nice win record this year and she can take this with the right trip, too.
Race 6 – (4) HELLO CHIPPER returns from London with a win and finds a spot where she should be tough right back; top call. (2) TOUCHDOWN AS had a start over the track now he drops into a claimer and gets Henry to drive. He should wake up with a better effort here. (1) EXCELLENCE will almost surely get a great trip if she can stay flat and she should be a threat. (9) PRESQUILLE is another dropping in for a tag that could move up sharply; upset chance. (3) ALONA should be in the mix for a spot in the High-5 if she stays flat this time.
Race 7 – (2) LEVY TAYLORE was second vs. better in a fast race at Mohawk Park two starts back and he is hard to go past in this spot; top call. (1) MASTER SMILE is in great form right now and he should be a threat from the rail in a race where you likely won’t find much value. (6) PLAIN EASY merits a look for the exotics picking up crafty driver Coulter.
Race 8 – (8) MOCODRA might get a great setup for her potent late kick here with a few leavers signed on; slight nod. (7) BLUEWATER BEACH cruised in a conditioned claimer last week and if she can repeat that mile, she should be right there vs. these. (1) FARMGIRL TOUGH is sent out by young conditioner Emma Christoforou making her training debut and she can ride a good trip from the rail to take a share.
Race 9 – (2) WILD EYED YANKEE is in a much better spot here than he was at Mohawk Park when he faced tougher starting from the worst post and a wakeup effort is expected. (1) FAMILY SPORTS raced decently for Coulter two starts back from post 7 and he is in with an upset chance here. (3) TOMITTA BAYAMA is a tough veteran campaigner who is likely to bring another strong effort tonight; using.
Race 10 – (8) LADY CATERINA hasn’t raced in a claimer since 2017 and she should appreciate the class relief here. Post 8 will aid her price; top call. (1) BL SUPER SALLY should show speed from the rail and at this level she is a threat to go all the way. (3) WINGS OF BALLYKEEL popped first time off the claim but these are tougher; demand a price.
Race 11 – (6) E L CITADEL was large winning from post 9 coming off a break and she gets the call to repeat. (7) ROBMOTION BLUE CHIP is stuck on one win but she fits well here facing easier and she is in with a chance. (5) SWEET NAN has produced two nice efforts in a row and she is another possibility in a race full of options. (2) PERFECT ROMI ships in from Quebec in good form and she picks up Coulter. She should be well-positioned early and that gives her a shot. (8) JMR MACH MEL looks for a threepeat but from out there I prefer to use her underneath.
