Race 1- (5) ROYAL PEACH, a winner here from the 7 hole last time, has the gate speed to drop in behind likely leader (4) KNOCKDOWN DRAGOUT and wait for her to start stopping then roll by late. The latter may not make it around the first turn on the trot but if she does, she is likely going to open up a huge lead and try to carry it to the wire. She is hard to trust at this point, but she is capable of a big speed try. (9) TEN FOUR WE GONE has good closing power on his best day and he is another who is a threat to roll by them all late.
Race 2 – (7) ISLA SEELSTER makes the drop to the bottom claiming level here and she may get sent right down the road by Coulter as a claim on her is very possible. (3) PANERAI gets an improved post coming off a strong winning effort and she is the one to beat. (1) SADIEMAESONHERWAY should get a spot near the front early and ride that position to a spot in the Tri.
Race 3 – (2) EATAAMS ELLIE should get another solid pace to stalk in this spot and she gets the call to repeat. (6) BLACKCREEK ROSEBUD has shown that she races better when she starts with her nose on the gate. She should be the one to catch. (5) HIGHLAND SALSA exits a good race where she was in against some colts. She should move up in this spot restricted to her own gender; using.
Race 4 – (9) COOL PRINCESS has two wins from four starts and her rivals here are a combined 0 for 58. She should take her third win if she can get a clean trip starting from the second tier. (6) ANNUAL ROYALTY has had many chances, but she does show the speed to contend here if she can stay flat. (3) ON TOP’s debut effort was good and she is another in with a chance if the choice falters.
Race 5 – (7) FIRST CAR is on a roll and post 7 might not matter to him the way he has been racing; top call. (5) SENIOR K drops again, but he appeared sluggish last week, and I’d demand a price here. (3) SOMEHOWSOMEDAY exits a fast race at Grand River and he is worth a look for the early Pick 4.
Race 6 –
(3) HALO ITS ME was picked off very late last week in a good effort and she should be tough in here. (7) NORTHERN TAILWIND was hung the mile in that race, and he draws tough again, but he could upset if he can clear to the front this time. (4) HETTIES MAGIC is another who is likely to leave that is in with a decent chance against these. (1) MUSCLES APLENTY faces tougher here. A small share is likely her ceiling in this spot. (9) MASTER GRAND faces elders but he has shown enough speed to contend for at least a share.
Race 7 – (9) LUKE AND DUKE has excelled in Gagnon’s barn and the 9-hole isn’t a bad spot here as the rail horse should be leaving; top call. (4) ST LADS FLIRT faces much easier tonight and he could blow up the tote board with the right trip. (5) DEVILS PEAK should be prominent throughout and he is another in with a shot in a contentious race.
Race 8 – (3) WINDSONG OPHELIA had a tough trip after leaving from an outside post last time. Moving inside gives her a much better chance and she should be a square price. (1) ALONA put trotting hopples on and she requalified well using the added equipment. She should contend here. (4) SECRETLY FLASHY broke stride twice and still rallied to win when she dropped to this claiming level. She loses Coulter to the rail horse now so demand a price.
Race 9 – (4) NOTETOSELF HANOVER drops and I’ll give him a slight nod in one of the tougher races of the night. (7) DOVUTO HANOVER has obvious inherent class but he hasn’t shown much since being claimed. Does he wake up on the class drop here? (1) FERRARIFEVER figures prominently starting from the rail and he is a logical one to use on Pick 4 tickets.
Race 10 – (3) HOLDIN ACES makes his second start back, gets major post relief and aggressive teamster Mackenzie; call to upset. (1) GYM RAT has a similar profile to the choice, and he could get a great trip here starting from the rail. He’s on my late Pick 4 ticket. (5) CLUB BELVEDERE will take action in this spot but based on recent form I am inclined to try to beat her out of this Pick 4. (8) XTATIC HANOVER would be rated higher had he drawn better but from out there I can only use him underneath. (6) KATCH KANNA will be in the mix early and likely stick around for a share.
