Mike Bozich’s Grand River Selections: Monday, September 9, 2019

Best Bet - (2) HAL N SAMMY - Race 4
Spot Play - (4) COCO BEACH DE VIE - Race 3
Early Pick 4 - 3,4,5/2/1,2,3/1,2,4,5 = $6.40
Late Pick 4 - 1,2,3/2,4,5/1,3,6/1,3,5 = $16.20

Race 1 - (1) NEED UR OPINION took a month off and put it all together against similar last out. She draws well and is a player once again. (2) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE never got involved last out. She gets a much better post and was coming around before that. (4) QUESO RELLENO was a strong winner two back at this level. She had a tough trip last out.

Race 2 - (2) ZEALOUS SEELSTER continues to enjoy a solid form spree. She had a tough trip at this level two starts back. (1) TOP ROYAL has raced evenly in her last two. She draws well and has had previous success against these. (3) DRAGON LADY ART has been closing solidly at Mohawk recently. The post should give her the needed striking range to contend.

Race 3 - (4) COCO BEACH DE VIE came forward nicely in her most recent. That was an improved effort, and a small step forward puts her in the winner's circle. (3) LANDRY SEELSTER has been fighting gamely over the past few starts showing a lot of heart. McNair is back to boot. (5) SO DELIGHTFUL can be forgiven for her last start as she was uncovered a long way. Her previous efforts merit consideration.

Race 4 - (2) HAL N SAMMY takes a needed drop in class after a series of even efforts against tougher. The good post draw will also aid. (4) PAR INTENDED came forward nicely last out after some good efforts against stronger. He is another that gets class and post relief. (6) LETS WAIT AND SEE actually drops in class after a victory against tougher last out. However, this is a strong group for this level.

Race 5 - (3) SATDNITE JUKEBOX has been racing well so far in her young career but has yet to get a win. She is a small step forward and a good trip away. (2) MS BRAMPTON BEAST was shuffled last out. Maybe a trip on a helmet will make her a bit braver and return her to previous form. (1) EVEN LOUDER gets major post relief from her last. Demand value however, as previous efforts against these weren’t the greatest.

Race 6 - (5) LATTE DATTE broke at the start last time costing her all chance. She defeated similar two starts back. (2) CADENCE SEELSTER has speed to burn is more than likely the one to catch from this fine post. (1) CD MAX showed marked improvement last out and draws well once again. (4) BUILT STRONG get class and post relief from his last. He raced decently against tougher two back. (6) TRUE CUSTOM faces tougher as he looks for his third straight win. He is best used underneath.

Race 7 - (3) SIOCHAN has been throwing hints as of late, including a late rally from out of position in her last. Striking position is everything, and the post gives her a chance to have it. (2) CAPISTRANO has fought gamely in each of her last three starts, winning two of them. She is obviously too sharp to ignore right now. (1) SHIRAZ SEELSTER closed from well off the pace vs. a slow back half last out. With that being said, the draw should keep her close.

Race 8 - (2) BANK SHOT HANOVER adds Harris after nearly going all the way as the favorite in his last. The post makes him a player once again. (4) JAKE PARRISH raced well against similar two starts back, with a win at this level six back. (5) BUCKAROO took an easier field to the woodshed last out. He can achieve a minor placing off the strength of that last score.

Race 9 - (6) HIGH ROLLER DUKE has a tripped out second at this class two starts ago. She is worth a look as a value play considering the flow figures to be live. (1) BETTORBEASECRET raced ultra-game in her start two back. She got shuffled last out, and now draws well. (3) BACK TO OZ has shown signs of coming around in her last few. A step forward could provide handsomely for her pari-mutuel backers.

Race 10 - (1) SPORTS TEEN exits ONSS events where he has struggled over his past few starts. He faces older, but we are entering the part of the year where you can wager on 3-year-olds vs older with confidence. (3) IM NOT BAD was pretty bad to his competition in his last two. A tougher test awaits, but his form is too hard to ignore. (5) MERCENARY overcame a parked-out journey to score the win last out. He is back up into Preferred territory, but certainly is sharp. (6) THORN IN YOUR SIDE was racing well at this level before the two-month hiatus. It is tough to determine where he is in the form cycle. (9) BETTOR BB steps up after a series of sharp efforts. He is a logical use underneath.
