The first Ontario Thoroughbred meet of 2022 is less than two months away, and Ontario Racing is launching a new series, Ontario Breds Abroad to get race fans excited for the upcoming summer meets at Woodbine and Fort Erie.

Ontario Breds Abroad will feature previews and results of Ontario bred horses in stakes races across the United States. Dive into the first edition below.

THE LOOKAHEAD – PREVIEWING ONTARIO BREDS ENTERED IN STAKES RACES

STRIKE ME DOWN - TAPIT - STRIKE SOFTLY, BY SMART STRIKE
Breeder: Sam-Son Farms
Colonel Power Stakes. Fair Grounds - Five-and-one-half furlong. Turf. Feb
 
He made his last start at the same distance in a stakes race on January 22. He closed strong coming from sixth at the 3/8, to cross the line third.  That result was bumped up to second after the winner was disqualified, matching his best career stakes finish, which he has done on two occasions.
 
HALO AGAIN - SPEIGHTSTOWN - HALO'S VERSE, BY UNBRIDLED'S SONG
Breeder: Anderson Farms Inc.
Fair Grounds Stakes Gr. 3. Fair Grounds - One-one-eighth miles. Turf
 
Comes into this race in fine form posting a win and a second in his last two starts, both stakes races earlier in the Fair Grounds meet. In his last start he got off well from the two spot, holding the rail throughout the race, before closing strong out three wide and finishing second by a head in a photo
 
PERFECT DAY - COMPETITIVE EDGE - GALAVANT, BY AWESOME AGAIN
Breeder: Northern Dawn Stables and Denny Andrews
Miracle Wood Stakes. Laurel Park - One Mile
 
The three-year-old will look to stay perfect in his career as he moves up a class. He broke his maiden in December at Penn National and won a six-furlong allowance at Parx Racing in January. In his last start sat 3rd at the 1/2, before being called upon at the final turn and cruising to the win by eight-and-a-half.
 
ICY STARE DOWN - FROSTED - MISS EMILIA, BY WAR FRONT
Breeder: Anderson Farms Inc.
Dixie Belle Stakes. Oaklawn Park- Six Furlongs
 
The three-year-old filly will look to make it two wins in a row after breaking her maiden on Dec. 18 at Oaklawn. In her maiden breaker, she went three wide around the final turn and after making her bid held on to get clear and win by a length.
