TORONTO - Woodbine Entertainment has cancelled today's (July 27) live racing card at Woodbine Racetrack, as a precaution for equine welfare and safety of all racing participants.
This decision was made due to the extreme heat warning in the Toronto area today, and in consultation with veterinarians and the Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Assocation of Ontario.
Today’s races will be offered to be carded for Sunday, July 30.
Woodbine will also endeavour to make up for Thursday's cancelled races by adding additional races over the next few race cards.
An update will be provided tomorrow morning.
