Prospect Series point standings update

Regular season events wrap up this week for the 2021 Prospect Series season, with trotters and pacers vying for a spot in the Friday, Sept. 24 Finals at Grand River Raceway.

Point standings for the divisions that are complete — three-year-old pacing colt, three-year-old pacing filly, two-year-old pacing colt and two-year-old trotting colt — have been finalised and posted to the  Prospect Series page. Current point standings for the four remaining divisions are also available and final standings for those divisions will be posted on Friday, Sept. 17.

To be eligible for the Sept. 24 Finals, horses need to have entered at least one of the five Prospect Series Legs. In the case where a leg did not fill and was not contested, all horses entered received five points toward their tally and are eligible to compete in the Final if they finish among the top nine point earners. Horses that raced in both the Prospect Series and Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series this summer can only compete in one of those finals.

Entries for the Prospect Series Finals are due Monday, Sept. 20 by 10 am. The top nine point earners to enter from each division will compete for the 2021 Prospect Series title.

More information about the Prospect Series is available here.
