“Ted W is a four-year-old gelding trained by Paul Attard. After my four years away from Woodbine, he is the horse I fell in love with. In those years away, I married the love of my life, Omar Moreno, and became a mother to my son, Austin. Everything in my life was exactly what I wanted it to be. However, there was still a void in my heart - I knew I had to go back to the Thoroughbreds.

Finally, with the encouragement from Omar, I got a job with Paul Attard. Paul was so good to me, and had lots of great horses for me to gallop. There was one, however, that stood out from the rest. I could never walk by Ted without having to stop and say hello. No amount of attention was ever enough. The kindness in that horse is second to none. Not only would he want to cuddle, but he would actually pull you in for a hug, and hold you. I’ve never seen anything like it. He always knew if I was having a bad day and how to make me smile.

As if his presence wasn’t enough, I also had the privilege to gallop him. Ted is the kind of horse that will give you whatever you ask, without you actually asking. You thought it, and he did it. Galloping him is a feeling of total unity and grace, with nothing short of personality.

Ted W showed me to not sweat over the small stuff, always enjoy the moment, and embrace life as it comes. A very valuable lesson, and I give thanks to Ted W, a once in a lifetime horse.”
